Enor – female wire fox terrier

Enor is part of the trio we’ve just taken on, she was born in July 2009, and so far, she has only known life in kennels as a breeding machine. She is getting ready to travel (arriving at the end of January 2016). We have been told she is lovely, but we will be able to tell you more once she is in our direct care.

As she is a former breeding dog, her new family must be prepared to put the work in to help her become a pet. She may not be house-trained, she may be scared by things we totally take for granted at home or outside. Are you the super duper family she deserves? Scopie – female wire fox terrier

Please meet Scopie our Terrier SOS OAP from France. She has now arrived in foster in London and settling in, still a bit confused as her life has changed dramatically – no more Kennels for Madame Scopie!

She was born in November 2001 (she is 14) – and has lived in the shelter for the past two years. She is hard of hearing and almost blind, but getting by really well, she still finds her way round.

We went for a drive and walk today – she was perfect in the car – and walks well on lead too – we are looking for a retirement home for her and will do a proper posting about her during the week – but please consider our Oldies – they deserve to have a family and spend what time they have surrounded with love and care.

She is looking for a retirement home and is fine with people and calm dogs. She loves cuddles. Due to her age and what she has been through – we want a lovely calm home for her to see out what time she has left in comfort and love.

Cassidy – female terrier lurcher cross

Cassidy is a 2 year old Lurcher/Terrier cross, that has just arrived in London foster from Romania.  Until now she has always lived in kennels.  Being the bright young thing that she is, Cassidy has made giant strides to becoming a pet – mastering house training and walking on the lead, and generally acting in a very well behaved manner.  With other dogs she is already v perfect, and with her unique looks she has also become a hit with dog walkers and the general public.  She is very affectionate & inquisitive.  Cassidy could easily be in a household with other dogs, or on her own.  If you want to wake up to a waggy tail with a dog that has a zest for life, Cassidy is the dog for you.

She is dog and people friendly.  She has now been cat-tested and appears to be fine, keeping her distance, staying calm and not showing much interest.

History:  Her humane shelter in Romania  reported:  Cassidy is a very sweet girl, spayed, fully vaccinated, medium size (15 kilos).  She is two. She is playful and loving to people, curious about new things. Cassidy gets on well with everyone and loves to run and play with other dogs.

She was abandoned as a very small puppy at our gate and she got through a rough winter and grew up into a beautiful young lady.  She is still a bit shy and will need to learn how to live as a pet in your home, which she hasn’t experienced.  Lots of patience and love needed.

Vickie

Vickie is an 11 year young fox terrier who lived happily with her owner, spoilt and loved. Unfortunately she ended up in a French shelter after the person passed away. Vickie has found the constant loud barking and the absence of comfort – despite the volunteers’ kindness  – hard to deal with. She has just arrived in temporary foster in Norfolk and we would love to find a foster home or of course an adoptive family for her.

She is full of life, playful and affectionate, and although she needs a comfy basket or sofa corner, she is not ready for complete retirement, so her new owners have be prepared for plenty of play sessions and walks! Vickie could live with a calm, level headed dog.

However you can apply for our belle now TerrierSOSQuestionnaireMay2015

Bracken

This is the delightful Bracke, currently in London foster. Bracken is from Spain, another stray left in the perrera. She is about 4 years old, she has had a tough life too.

At first she would flatten every time you approached, any raised voice, or sudden noise would either send her running or flatten to the ground in a submissive position. She starts her morning by jumping on you and giving licks and little nibbles to your fingers. She likes a morning biscuit – she jumps up at you like she has springs in her paws.

She is learning to walk on lead, she is still frightened by the sounds of traffic, loud people, and unusual noises. But once in the park or quieter area – she will relax and be at ease. She wants love from people, but is still afraid – but she is getting better and realising people do not want to hurt her. All she wants is love and cuddles. She loves meeting dogs, and is comfortable in their company. She is not for the great outdoors, prefers to stay on the nice paved path, she was not bothered by squirrels running across her path. Just wants all the creature comforts of a nice urban life. She will follow you pretty much everywhere. She likes to be on your lap and getting cuddles. In fact, if she could do that all the time she would be happy. She has a good appetite, but she will not bother you during your meal – but expects a treat or two. She likes to play bitey face with the other dogs, but has shown no interest in toys or a ball. She arrived with an eye infection and skin problems, the eye infection has cleared up, but she has medicated shampoo and her skin is improving. Bracken will need a home that is calm and prepared to take things slow. You also would not be a family that does marathons or enjoys being knee deep in mud! But she does love to roll in fox’s mess, so the terrier is in there ….

She is about 4 years old.  Vaccinated & neutered. No cats or small furries. Children: 10+ Interested in Bracken? Please download & complete TerrierSOSQuestionnaireMay2015
