Update January 2023

She has settled well in her foster home and is a sweet and cheeky girl.  

The foster has gotten to know Dolly better and has found her a real delight.  She is everything a young dog should be and will make a wonderful family member.  Dolly is fine in the home, however, she is still learning to manage the outside world.

Dolly will bark at dogs when out on lead – she will also bark at people that she is unfamiliar with.  She drools excessively when traveling in the car.  She still is finding the outside world daunting – and thus her foster has limited her outdoor trips so she is not overwhelmed.  She will get there in time – but will need a family that has patience and compassion and not rush her.

She can be left for a couple of hours – but we would not rehome to any family planning on leaving her for long periods during the day.

As she is concerned of new people, any prosepctive home would need to visit several times at least – to get to know her and more importantly get her to feel safe in your company. 

She is a sweet little dog in a very large world and needs her family to be there for her.  

Update – Nov 2022

Dolly has now been spayed – she is now ready for the right home.  Dolly is a lovely dog and a very sweet cuddly girl.  She still needs support to turn into the best ‘outdoor’ girl she can be.  Although fine in the house – she does want to be near you and sit on your lap – she will cuddle up next to you on the bed.  She does react to outside sounds/noises – but this is easily managed. She does not like birds -and will keep your garden free of them!

She does not travel well – and will drool – we are extending her car trips.  But you will need to cover your back seat in towels 

Dolly’s biggest area that needs help is with walking – and very busy urban areas.  She will bark at other dogs – she is afraid of larger dogs and wants to jump in your arms to keep her safe.  We have worked on this – but it is a slow process – she is a dog that wasnt brought on much so she has to learn to ‘walk on by’.  So the foster is now bringing her to quiet places and this will continue for the foreseeable.  We have seen improvement so the new family will follow our methods

She loves people – and wants to greet everyone – so we are working on her not jumping up to say Hello.  Space is better for her – but we are keeping her world small and she is doing well.

She is still in many ways a puppy – a sweet, loving, happy puppy

She can live with another dog – but she can be overwhelming – so it wouldn’t be fair on older dogs.

Although we do focus on terriers – we do help ‘friends’.  This girl’s family had a change of life – and they were placed in temporary accommodation – Sadly they werent allowed to bring their dog with them.  We were asked to help and of course we said yes for this little sweetie.

Dolly is about a year old , she is a Doodle Cross (about 8 kilos) – we aren’t sure the mix – but we are sure she is 100% a cutie.

Dolly is a lovely girl but very much still a puppy.  She will need guidance and support – she hasn’t had much of an outside life – so she has a habit of barking at things that make her unsure – this is usually dogs – but has been a large man with a beard too.  She also wants to be carried and uses this as a way of protecting herself from the scary world – We will work with any prospective home to help her gain her confidence and also lose the need to bark at things.  She does not need training , just patience and support.

She is fine with dogs – has avoided cats – loves most people – can be wary of some men.  

She is a lovely little dog, and will be a wonderful companion
