Tobias – Wire Fox Terrier Cross – Rehomed

Update (27 June)

Well, Tobias has arrived in the UK and is in foster in Hertfordshire.  He is making himself at home – with all four paws!  He loves pillows and playing – he loves chasing bees (a very bad hobby) and doing sniffari in the garden.  He is learning to be an urban dog – so is learning to walk on lead and cope with the outside world.  We are taking things at his pace and he is learning fast.

The foster is quite smitten with him – and who wouldn’t be?

Please say Hello to our lovely Tobias.  He has lived 2 years (most of his life) in a perrera in Spain – and sadly due to the current crisis, the perrera was filling up and they wanted to clear space for the newcomers.  Clearing space meant his life was in the balance.

So here he is … A new Terrier SOS boy

Tobias is approx 3 years old, a medium sized boy (8.5 kilos) – we think a Smooth fox terrier crossed with a Wire fox terrier. But definitely all terrier.  He is dog friendly, loves people – but we dont have much more information – he is currently living in Spain at a fosters home with other dogs and we will update when we can.

He is lively and will need a home that will be ready to help guide him into his new life.

We will move him as soon as the restrictions are lifted – so hopefully May / June 2020

If you would love to foster or adopt – please get in touch – like Tobias, we are all ears !

He is not suitable with cats or other small animals – Children 10+

Rufo – Airedale Terrier – Rehomed

When we saw this boy – we just couldn’t stop thinking about him.  He was abandoned in one of the infamous perreras in Spain.  He was lucky a small rescue saw him and decided to give him a chance and take him out of that place.  We were contacted and offered to help work with this rescue and help him find the right home for him in the UK.

Rufo was abandoned – his ears have been cut of, his teeth worn down from years of neglect.  They think he was used to ‘guard’ someone’s finca.  He was left alone, unloved, uncared for – and eventually he no longer served a purpose and was brought to the perrera and an unknown fate.

They think he is 5/6 years old – a loving boy – but a dog that has been abused – he is shy around new humans – especially men.  He is learning to be a pet and is in foster in Spain.  We feel he is a dog that has suffered a lot of hardship – and are looking for a family to offer him a quiet and safe place to find his paws and be loved.

He can live with other dogs, no cats – children 10 plus

Petra – Wire Fox Terrier – Rehomed

Please welcome our beautiful Petra.

She came from a place that kept her for breeding and when no longer needed or wanted she was to be disposed of like rubbish. Thankfully some wonderful people stepped in, and she is now part of the Terrier SOS family. She is a treasure and she will never suffer that life again.

The foster in Spain had to wash her 4 times just to get the dirt and smell out. Petra had terrible skin (which you can imagine based on her living conditions) – she was treated, she got all her vaccinations and also was speyed. We discovered an ovarian tumour and it was removed and a follow up scan and tests does not show any metasteses thankfully. Her skin has improved, she has improved and we couldn’t be happier for her. She went for a stroll afterwards and guess what she did next…yep, a roll in the grass (it has transpired to be one of her favourite things)

She is currently in foster in Spain and living with a 2 year old pointer.  She has a zest for life, likes going for easy strolls, playing with her doggy foster friend and just basically enjoying life.  She cuddles on the sofa and ants to be with her people.

She is estimated to be 10 years old, and the Vet has said she is in good health.

Daisy – Parsons Russell Cross – Rehomed

This is the delightful Daisy.  She is 4 years old, she is a JRT x Parson Russell girl. She is currently living in Yorkshire – but she can travel for the right family. She is microchipped, speyed and up to date with all her vaccinations, but she does not have a passport.

Likes: Cuddles, people of all ages, sleeping on the bed, playing with the big dogs in the park, being Bossy, barking at things she doesn’t like

Dislikes: the Postman, people walking past my window, bicycles and motorbikes, some dogs when I am on lead, recall

She is a typical terrier and really needs a home that will have time and love for her. She can live with another dog – male – as she has bossy tendencies.

Mr. Roo – Airedale Terrier – Rehomed

This is our wonderful Roo, a gorgeous 7 year old Airedale boy.  He is a typical Airedale and has a wonderful enthusiasm for life and a sweet temperament.  Roo came to us as an emergency.  His owner passed away, and the family were leaving him all day in a cellar.  He was not coping and the family decided to put him to sleep.  A volunteer begged them to give them a few days to find an option – and we were called and we stepped in and he has gone into foster in Norfolk

We do not want to focus on his past – but it has affected him and we are slowly helping build his confidence and giving him guidance so he can enjoy life to the full.  Roo is 7 years old, very enthusiastic – but any loud sounds/bangs sends him running.  He startles quite easy, and is slowly building trust in his foster – in time he will understand that his family is there to protect him and care for him.  He is worried about being left and will need very patient understanding – we feel he will eventually be able to be left – but this will take time – and trust and work.

Roo has no problem with other dogs – but he gets very excited indoors and will push limits.  As he will require a family that puts their focus on him – we feel it would be better if he was an only dog.

He walks well on lead, travels well in the car, loves playing, is sweet and cheeky as any proper Airedale should be.  Roo doesnt need any training ,but he will need guidance and a family that has the time and patience to help him findhis faith in people again.
