Well, Tobias has arrived in the UK and is in foster in Hertfordshire. He is making himself at home – with all four paws! He loves pillows and playing – he loves chasing bees (a very bad hobby) and doing sniffari in the garden. He is learning to be an urban dog – so is learning to walk on lead and cope with the outside world. We are taking things at his pace and he is learning fast.
The foster is quite smitten with him – and who wouldn’t be?
Please say Hello to our lovely Tobias. He has lived 2 years (most of his life) in a perrera in Spain – and sadly due to the current crisis, the perrera was filling up and they wanted to clear space for the newcomers. Clearing space meant his life was in the balance.
So here he is … A new Terrier SOS boy
Tobias is approx 3 years old, a medium sized boy (8.5 kilos) – we think a Smooth fox terrier crossed with a Wire fox terrier. But definitely all terrier. He is dog friendly, loves people – but we dont have much more information – he is currently living in Spain at a fosters home with other dogs and we will update when we can.
He is lively and will need a home that will be ready to help guide him into his new life.
We will move him as soon as the restrictions are lifted – so hopefully May / June 2020
If you would love to foster or adopt – please get in touch – like Tobias, we are all ears !
Update – Aug 2021 – Foxy’s rehoming has been put on Hold – we are rearranging his current situation so we can have him work with a behaviourist on a more regular basis – we will update when we feel he may be ready.
This is the wonderful Foxy Gryffin – he is a one year old male wire fox terrier that has just become the newest member of the Terrier SOS family.
He was signed over to the perrera with the right to euthanise immediately. Our wonderful volunteers stepped in, and he is now safe in kennels in Spain.
He is still a puppy – and so will need a terrier experienced family – he is fun, happy and energetic – he just needs to learn to manage that energy. Foxy Gryffin has arrived in the UK and is currently in kennels in Norfolk. He is a dog that has had no guidance and is very excitable and we are working with a Behaviourist helping him calm himself and also learn some boundaries. As an example, we manage to have him calm, but you get up – he starts bouncing on the sofa, or leaps on your toes to have a nibble – so we have to go back to getting him calm. We are managing to do this, and we can get him to keep four paws on the floor. So we are looking for a family that will LISTEN to us and will LISTEN to our behaviourist. Because of this we will place priorities on families in the South East – they would need to come and spend time with us and Foxy G. He is the G Man – and a great boy – he is rocket man and will need a family that will keep him on the earth
We are looking for a Terrier experienced family that has time and patience to help him make the transition to ‘pet’. He is smart, a fast learner and really up for anything. He now needs a home that will see the ‘diamond in the rough’ put the work in continuing to help him find his boundaries
Could this be you? Do you like learning new things? Than this is the boy for you, please contact us
He is based in Norfolk and we will give priority to homes in the South East.
This is Saint Jude – this is the most adorable little terrier cross boy. St. Jude is the Patron Saint of Hope and impossible causes and that seems perfect for Terrier SOS! Another dog that was abandoned and sent to the perrera. No interest,no hope. We are always busy but squeezed him in. We are great believers in HOPE.
He is about 1 year old – dog and people friendly. We are unsure about cats – but at this stage – we would recommend a home with no small furries. He is a young dog, and is looking for a energetic family that has the time and energy to help him become a pet.
He is currently being fostered in London – they say he is a delight. He is learning life in a home – and has mastered stairs! He is a quick learner and is settling well. He is dog friendly – but he loves to play – but he is a youngster – so will pester any resident dog.
He is neutered, fully vaccinated and with passport.

This is our wonderful Alvin – our little pocket rocket. This little boy is back at rescue as his current family have had a change in circumstances and are unable to meet his needs.
This sweet dog came to us from Spain – but we knew he was going to be a firecracker from the get go – as he actually bent the bars on his crate whilst traveling in the van over to the UK. This is a dog that was never a pet before coming to the UK and was more than likely living free with other dogs outdoors. He is young and adorable and we think a Podenco / Terrier cross- approx 3 years old
Alvin lives with other dogs and he is a free range kind of boy. He likes people – and has done very well in his new home – but he does require a lot of guidance and support and freedom.
His current home has worked with him and he has learnt a lot about how to live as a pet and behave indoors. But he would need a family that followed our guidance and continue working with Alvin so he doesn’t slip back to old habits
He would ideally have a rural or semi rural home life. You would have a large garden (possible acreage / small holding) – this would allow you to let Alvin enjoy freedom and adjust to his new life. Going for walks is very exciting for Alvin – being restrained by a lead adds a lot of anxiety for him – so if walks could be avoided that would be great provided he still has freedom to roam in an outside space. He can live with other dogs – but he is a very bolshy young man and thus can be a bit of a bully – so the other dogs would ideally be larger and ‘seen it all’. He could live on his own as well – provided the owner invested the time in him.
His current family are no longer able to meet his needs and he needs to find the home that has the time and energy for him. He is a smashing dog – but not for the feint hearted.

Meet the wonderful Alfie – when I see him I really do want to sing ‘Whats it all about, Alfie!’ . He is a divine little Parsons Russell terrier cross – found in Spain with wounds to his neck wandering in the countryside. He was found and luckily brought to a shelter. We were asked if we could help – and well, one look at that face and I was smitten. He really is a very sweet loveable dog.
He is in foster in London and we are told that he has settled well with the other dogs. He likes to play ‘biteyface’ and chase – he will happily play with a toy – or cuddle with you on the sofa watching telly. He is house trained, travels well in the car, can be left for short periods, he is learning to walk on lead and can get excited approaching other dogs on lead. We are working on this – but it is not an insurmountable problem. He is a leggy terrier – and we are not sure what the cross is with – but whatever it is – it has made a scrummy little dog. He is about 3 years old, in good health. Has been vaccinated and neutered. He likes to chase the birds and squirrels – and just wants to run off lead. He is smart and a fast learner – and he has been such a delight to foster – and when he looks at us with those big brown eyes…we just melt….
He would benefit living with a dog – as he really enjoys the company of his furry pals. He does follow their lead and will benefit from a friend. He is a bit timid in new situations – so his new family will need to slow down for him. He will make the perfect companion and just a fabulous dog. If his foster was not at her maximum for dogs – she would swoop him up!
