Sir Galahad – WFT – Rehomed

Sir Galahad is a Wire Fox Terrier lad, originally from Spain and now in the UK waiting for his forever home.

He’s a lively young chap (around 3 years old) and will need an active home to keep him busy and entertained.  He is both people and dog-friendly, though can be a little selective about other male dogs.  He has been neutered and has his passport.  He has tested positive for leishmaniasis (a parasite-borne disease transmitted by sandflies which causes skin issues) so is receiving treatment – but it is managed through medication and it isn’t slowing him down.

Leishmaniasis is a tropical non-contagious disease transmitted to dogs by a tiny sandfly in Mediterranean countries.  Leishmaniasis cannot currently be cured, but can be treated. A dog with leishmaniasis can live a happy and healthy life for many years. The usual treatment is with Alopurinol tablets, which are cheap and readily available as they are used for treatment of gout in humans. We support our families that adopt Leish positive dogs – and there are also several groups on Social Media that provide information and support.  Sir Galahad has the strain which attacks his organs, he is also allergic to the standard treatment, so is being treated with Auto Vaccination, which can take around 3 weeks to show any results.  He is responded well to treatment and has come to the UK.

Sir Galahad is a wonderful dog, but sadly we feel that his time on the street has made him nervous of others dogs outside the home.  He has shown a fear reaction when out on lead, we are working with a Behaviourist and have a plan in place for him.  Time and patience will help this boy find his confidence.

Sir Galahad is currently in Norfolk.

Prince George Chorkie Yorkshire Terrier Chihuahua Mix – Rehomed

He is small but mighty, our first ever ‘Chorkie’ here at Terrier SOS, a yorkshire terrier chihuahua mix, probably bought as a puppy as an expensive present in a Spanish pet shop. As pet shop don’t operate a return policy, he was abandoned over a year later, found straying and never claimed.

Now about 2 years old, Prince George is in London foster, and is as adorable as he looks. He adjusted very quickly to his foster family, gets on with the resident dog and with everyone he meets, dogs and humans.

George is very affectionate, quite needy, he needs to be by your side. He loves playing zoomies with other dogs in the park and has great recall. In his foster garden, he enjoys digging and hiding his bones in funny places.

He loves cuddles, in fact he lives for cuddles. He is also a bit of a kangsroo, and can jump up and down very high for treats or when he sees the lead.

Rex – Fox Terrier – Rehomed

This is a 2 year old boy we took under our wing earlier in the summer. This little boy was put into the perrera by his owner, the owner gave the right to sacrifice (this means that the perrera can put him to sleep immediately). He had no time.  So we made room, and we would like to introduce you to Rex (Rexus Maximus, T Rex, Rex Harrison) – we feel he deserves to live like a King and we will be bringing him to the UK in the Autumn.

At present, we are still finding out more about this handsome chap.  We know he’s very sweet and dog-friendly, but no idea about cats or children at this point.  As we discover more, we will update you.

Like Sir Galahad, he has tested positive for Leishmania and has received treatment to which he is responding well. We are told he is a sweet boy, kind and gentle. He is only 2 years old. He wants to find his family.

Minnie – Wire Fox Terrier – Rehomed

Minnie is a young female fox terrier, taller than average, very affectionate to people. In the house with her foster family, she is very calm and very attentive. She is very patient with foster sister Fox Terrier.

After months spent in kennels, she enjoys the home comforts sofa and bed, and is house trained. This is because she is quite bright and quick to learn. She loves chewy toys and zoomies in the garden. Out and about, she walks very well on the lead. However, she gets erratic when she sees other dogs in the part, through a mixture of fear and excitement. This has improved but will need work. For this reason, she would be better suited for a family who have owned dogs before. She can live with other dogs at home and is great with older children. She is as irresistible and has many admirers whilst she promenades.

Minnie ended up in a Spanish pound through no fault of her own, she hasn’t had a great start in life and fully deserves to catch up, as well as help some humans in the same way.  In London foster.

Evoque – Airedale – Rehomed

This is Evoque – she is 2 years old and a very typical Airedale girl – so much so that her family felt they could no longer cope with her and put her into rescue. We are told she is people and dog friendly.

We are working with a Spanish rescue to help find this beautiful young Airedale girl the furever family she deserves.  She is with a rescue co-ordinator in Spain and we are working with them to see if we can find her a UK home – so they will provide the support and back up.

If you would like adopt – please complete a Homing Questionnaire and get in touch. We do love our Airedales!
