Nana 11 year old Wire Fox Terrier

We were messaged about a wire fox terrier called Nana – 11 years old and the family needed to rehome her – they were desperate and despite all the attention – there were no serious offers.

So we got in touch, and now we would like to introduce the newest member of our rescue – the wonderful Miss Nana! She will be in foster with Cristina – one of our most amazing and overworked fosters. She will go to the Vet for a checkup – but she is in good health and we would like to find her the perfect forever family. She is fine with other dogs and cats (yes, we said cats!).

No small furries, children: 10+

Bella Female Wire Fox Terrier

Update September 2015: Bella has some long-term medical issues, and we feel she can’t travel and needs to be looked after by the vets who have helped her so far. Consequently, she is going to stay in long-term foster in Spain as a Terrier SOS dog. We love you Bella.

Bella was in the perrera of Cantabria – she was dumped on the street by her former owner – she was in a right state – mammary tumours and a large tumour on her side. She was no one’s first choice for adoption – and it did not look likely that anyone would adopt her. And with her tumours, and her age (they knew she was older – over 8 at least) when it came time to make room in kennels – she would be the first to go.

What to do? We have a lot of dogs – many of them crosses that take longer to rehome and so we had to sit and make some difficult choices. Could we foster, would the costs be large, could she travel? What could we do? Thankfully we have wonderful supporters that help us make the impossible possible. So we spoke to the volunteer and said we would take her.

The lovely volunteer Blanca arranged her release and we took her – she first went to a volunteer for a few days until a journey could be arranged to Cristina. One of our long suffering fosters, despite having many of her own dogs, cats and also her own life worries. She agreed to take her and arranged a foster friend to take care of her day to day – but Cristina is the one bringing her to the Vet, getting updates and making sure all is ok. We are indebted to her.

Well, Bella – wow – poor girl had been carrying around tumours that were impressive. We had to get her healthy first- she has been having troubles with her digestive system and has spent several nights at the Vets as she has Gastrointestinal attacks. But eventually she was healthy enough and the mass of mammary tumours were removed and the one on her side. I will not post the photos – but the tumour on the side was larger than two adult fists – the poor girl had been so sorely neglected.

We did analysis on her tumours and the mammary ones were benign, but the one on her side was malignant. So back she went to see if the tumour had spread – xrays and blood tests – and no tumours were noted – so she has the all clear – but obviously we do not know what her future holds health wise. She still suffers from digestive issues and is on a special diet and that will continue.

She is in foster – and we are covering all her costs and they will be significant. We are not sure when she will be able to travel and if she will – will there be a home willing to offer her the love and care despite her age and problems?

But she now knows love and care , she is loving cuddles and the sofa. She has gentle strolls and people that care about her.

Bella will be soon looking for a foster or adoptive family in the UK. Please get in touch if you are interested.

Bella will be vaccinated, neutered and passported.  No small furries or cats. Children 10+

Lili Female Miniature Schnauzer

after-70 Brinselfie

We have received many applications for Lili in a short time – no new applications for her accepted at this stage – but if Lili brought you here please take the time to look at our other dogs. This delightful doll came from one of the many killing stations in Spain. She had been abandoned by her owner – like so many just before Christmas. Although not strictly a terrier – she melted our hearts – and she is now with a foster in the UK with Terrier SOS rescue.

Lili is a young girl, she is approx 2 years old, she is a Mini Schnauzer and a real cutie. Lili is a fabulous dog – she is housetrained, walks well on lead, has recall (when bonded with you) , she is fine with other dogs out and about. Lili loves to play with her toys, and she will protect your garden from any unwanted birds! She loves being cuddled, having her ears scratched and laying on her back in the sunshine.

Although she is fine with the foster dog, she has shown some signs of jealousy – and will barge the other dog out of the way so she gets all the attention, so we feel a home where she can get all the attention is best.

We cannot say enough wonderful things about this dog so we are looking for an equally wonderful home.

Lili is microchipped, passported, fully vaccinated, and spayed.  She is currently fostered in Dorset.

Beautiful terrier mix Ruby is a young girl, about 2-3 years old, spayed, fully vaccinated, medium size. She was dumped on the street in Romania a while ago, then taken in by somebody, then dumped again when the owner moved abroad and didn’t want her anymore. She was taken on by a small Romanian rescue and has now just arrived in the UK. She is being fostered in Watford, we will have more updates soon for you, but what we can say is that she was happy and friendly from the first minute, and doing zoomies in her new garden.

Ruby is good with dogs and people, friendly with everyone she meets.

Gentle and beautiful, she deserves to finally settle down with a loving family, could it be you?

If you would like to adopt this lovely dog, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Tara Spanish Greyhound

This is the beautiful Tara – Terrier SOS saved her from a horrible fate as a hunting dog in Spain – she is in foster in Nottinghamshire and proving to be a delightful dog.

[meteor_slideshow slideshow=”tara”]

She is approx 6 years old, loves cuddles, running on the beach and being your best companion.

She is a blond Galga – that wears her heart on her face. She is clean in the house, travels well in the car and loves to have her bursts of energy and then lounge snuggled next to you on the sofa. She does need further work on her lead – she can be bossy with other dogs – but we think in the right home – she will blossom.

Preferably a home with Sighthound experience. Can you open your heart to her?
