Lolo – Wire Fox Terrier – Rehomed

Meet the amazing Lolo!  A beautiful fox terrier boy and an honoured member of the Pointy Ears Club!
Like so many of our dogs, we got a message about a boy at risk in a perrera in Southern Spain – so through the usual wonderful volunteers he came into our care. He went into kennels with another of our rescued dogs, Kika.  They were firm friends – which just shows he can live on his own or with another dog (with proper introductions).  Lolo is 5 years old, neutered and in foster in Nottinghamshire.

Lolo is a super little dog. He enjoys being outside, always on the go, sniffing out the local wildlife and patrolling the fences and keeping the neighbourhood safe. Indoors he’s the first to relax on his bed or (better, in his opinion) on a chair or sofa. His foster has often stood up from desk and turned round to find Lolo has taken up his rightful place on her chair. Lolo loves a cuddle, on his own terms, he’ll snuggle up in the sofa and watch a film with you but is just as happy working on a chew in his bed.

With ears like these, there’s no sneaking past Lolo, he wants to be part of whatever is going on in the home. Whenever you are, there’s Lolo, right behind you or sitting on your foot. Just don’t leave the bathroom door ajar…
Lolo loves humans and is so friendly with everyone he meets, he even showed no fear when meeting the vet. Lolo is getting used to seeing other dogs out walking. He’s picked up the training really quickly, and now walks really well on the lead provided you follow our instructions.  He is a dog that needs time and patience. However, his recall is typical for a terrier (i.e. non-existent!) and he is very prey driven so we expect life for Lolo will be enjoyed on a lead!  See a video of Lolo on our facebook page

Hero Hal – Fox Terrier – Rehomed

Please meet Hero Hal Jordan – another one of our Terrier SOS Super Heroes….we got an urgent plea asking if we could help this poor dog – straying on the streets in poor condition, limping – who could turn him away?

He is a brave little dog and we felt we had to help.  So we said we would take him, and with the help of the amazing volunteer network we have abroad – who drove to pick him up and get him to a vet to seek treatment for his front leg.  He has since had surgery and had his front right leg amputated, as the damage was too severe for remedial treatment.  He is currently in foster in Spain.

He walks much better now as a 3-legged hero, and is proving to be an incredibly smart young man!  A fast learner, he is currently undertaking some basic behaviour training to ensure his manners are up to scratch!  He knows where the cookie jar is, for sure!  Check out our facebook page for videos of his training!

Lobo – Wire Fox Terrier

Cuddly Lobo was found as stray in Tenerife, currently in foster in Spain.
He was brought to a rescue that is run by an English couple.  Lobo was heavily matted, in a terrible state.  He also walked with an odd gait.
The rescue took him in – cleaned him up, and took him to a vet to assess his gait. The diagnosis is that poor Lobo’s 1st vertebrae is out of sync, and this is causing a compression on his spinal cord. The vet feels that his condition can be managed with pain meds and anti-inflammatory meds and this will give his a happy full life.
Due to his age and condition, he will not find a home in Tenerife – so we were asked if we could help. Well, we love a fox terrier (who doesn’t!) – and we think he is a doll!
We will reassess his condition when he arrives to the UK. He is fine with other dogs (keeps to himself), loves people and is ready for his new life.

Lobo deserves to live his life in a wonderful home here where he can get the love and compassion he has lacked so far.  Complete a TerrierSOSQuestionnaireMay2015 now!

Calisto – Fox Terrier – Rehomed

Calisto was abandoned with another dog in a park in Northern Spain – they were picked up and placed in the local town kennels – they do not get held long here and are thrown in with a lot of other dogs. Someone came forward for his companion – but no one wanted Calisto. So he had days before they would end his life. We were contacted by a volunteer in Spain asking if we could help. You see Calisto is an older Fox Terrier and he is not quite ‘perfect’.

But we at Terrier SOS think he is beautiful and we want to find him the right home that will see the gem that he is. He is approx 6-7 years old. He’s has three deformities: on his jaw, he has a cleft palate and a deformity on his spine. The Vet has said none of these cause him any problems and he manages just fine. He does make noises when he breathes apparently – due to the cleft palate. He is perfectly healthy and has just been neutered. He had infections due to the many dog bites he received whilst in kennels and they are being treated.

He is currently in foster in Bournemouth and we would love an adoptive home for him – he is desperate for human attention. He is fine to live with other dogs – but no small furries.  This is a special boy and we want a special home.

Diabolo – male wire fox terrier – reserved

This is Diabolo – we were asked to help some dogs from a breeding kennel in France – they were downsizing and the dogs were surplus to requirement. So if we did not act fast – who knows where they would of ended up? We took 3 dogs – and this is one of them.

Diabolo is a fizzy drink in France – and we think it is an apt name for our Diabolo – he is fizzy – a full on Fox Terrier. He is always up for life – he likes to rearrange things, make his presence known, be in the middle of a scrum that he possibly started…A great boy, full of love and joy – but just the glint of naughty in his eyes. He is 7/8 years old and in fine health (he does have poor teeth) – he is a handsome boy and ready for his new home. Although he is ok with dogs – he would be better as an only dog as he really does like to be a true terrier and push buttons – he could live with a larger dog that would be able to live with that. No young children and no small furries.
